Project description

Leaders for Future addresses youth unemployment and gender inequality, focusing on young women from disadvantaged backgrounds in Europe, the Western Balkans, and neighbouring regions.

Why?
The project tackles structural barriers limiting young women’s access to decent jobs and leadership roles, promoting gender equality, social inclusion, and human rights.

Target Groups:

  • • Primary: Young women aged 18–30 (especially migrants, unemployed, or disadvantaged) and youth workers.
  • • Secondary: Civil society organisations, policymakers, businesses, and the general public.

Project objectives

• Strengthen youth organisations through training and new tools.
• Foster non-formal education and entrepreneurial mindsets.
• Build leadership capacity and address psychological barriers.
• Promote youth participation, entrepreneurship, and social initiatives.
• Enhance international cooperation among youth organisations.
• Increase employability for disadvantaged young women.

Project results

• Focus groups to identify challenges faced by young women.
• Assessment tool to identify entrepreneurial skills gaps in women aged 18–30.
• Blended course for youth workers.
• Specialised training materials for young women wanting to become entrepreneurs.
• Local Support Points in each country.
• National and international business plan competitions.
• National Hubs to disseminate results and host activities.
