Short description of the project:
The main objective of this youth interchange, where more than 20 young people from different EU countries participated, was to prepare and perform a play “Romeo and Juliet” by Shakespeare. During the week of the exchange, the participants took part in various workshops of theatrical improvisation in order to learn more things related with theatrical work at and behind the scene: voice emission, self-expression, drama improvisation, creating scenography and many others.
The participants also visited theatres of Lublin and saw a performance of the Polish theatre group based on the real story about a soldier who was writing letters to his wife during the Second World War. The performance was made in Polish, but the letters was a part of the stage decoration and they were projected over the stage in English.
The ultimate objective of the event was to prepare a performance based on the play Romeo and Juliet. All the participants took part in preparations either as actors or as scenic and costume designers and choreographers. The performance was shown in one of the main sightseeing places of Lublin and it had a great success.
