The exchange took place in Cluj, in the North of Romania, and the participants were 6 youngsters from each partner country. During the exchange, we carried out several activities, trips, games and workshops, boosting young people's active participation, critical thinking and learn about other cultures. Moreover, it was a great opportunity for them to practise their English oral skills.
One of the activities to be highlighted in this CityBound Youth Exchange was the trip to the salt mines of Salina Turda, where the participants saw a tourist attraction totally different from the conventional ones and learned many things from the explanations about the mines' origins, formation and use. One of the activities carried out inside the mines was the shooting of a short clip in groups of about 5 minutes. That evening, they watched the videos in a "movie night" while eating popcorn.
As always, the 'Star Activity' of CityBounds is the City Challenge. In this case, the participants had to carry out some tasks and challenges which were an excuse to visit tourist attractions in order to learn a little bit more about Romanian culture. The City Challenge lasted for two days: on the first day, they discovered the most social and human part of Cluj, as most tasks consisted in interacting with the locals; on the second day, the tasks were related to the historical monuments of the city.
At the end of each day, each national group carried out personal and group reflections in order to assess the new knowledge and skills that participants had acquired.
