The “TAKE ACTION - Citizenship education for an inclusive and sustainable future” project aims to increase social and civic competences of European youth by transferring and adapting an effective teaching methodology and improving the capabilities of teaching institutions in providing their students with tools and knowledge to foster their active participation in the society.
The project involves different kinds of organisations such as associations, private education providers, universities and high schools to adapt and develop a teaching curriculum based on the “Action Civics” curriculum created by Generation Citizens, an US-based organisation.
An e-learning course targeted teachers will be developed to allow the transferability of the curriculum. The course will be freely available on the project website and on the websites of each partner organisation to allow any teacher, educator, organisation or institution with the objective of maximizing the dissemination of the curriculum.
The pilot implementation and the evaluation activities planned in the project will be aimed at producing a report, which will include detailed data on the impact of the curriculum on the involved students and recommendations for policy-makers, public institutions and authorities for the inclusion of the TAKE ACTION curriculum in the curricula of high-schools and in the teacher education curricula.
