Mobility is an international exchange of 7-15 days for teenagers, young people or/and youth workers to meet in another country to discuss different topics related to the identity and values of the European Union.
During these days, participants share their experiences on the theme of the exchange and meet people from different cultures and countries while practising and improving their English skills.
Participants should be hardworking, open-minded and motivated to meet people from all over Europe.
The English language is the tool to communicate with the participants and the coordinators of the project. Although no certificate is required, we recommend that participants have fluency in written and spoken English.
Participants should participate in the activities offered by the coordinators, show interest in the project and be participative and enthusiastic.
Before the mobility, participants should attend the meetings (usually 2 or 3) to get to know the project objectives, the sending organisation they will represent and their tasks and responsibilities.
These exchanges are coordinated by a youth leader (an experienced youth worker).
They usually take place during the school holidays (Easter, Christmas and summer holidays).
To participate in these exchanges, young people need to have a basic level of English (A1-A2) so that they can communicate with and understand the other participants and the youth leaders.
Participants travel alone or accompanied by the project coordinator to the exchange location and are responsible for representing the Association Open Europe during the international exchange.
These projects are co-financed by the European Union, so the main costs are covered. Participants have to cover part of the travel and administrative costs themselves, which is done when signing the participant contract.
If the participants are under 18 years old, the contract will also be signed by their parents.
