The use of robots to support adult learners is a relatively new field that has shown interesting results. Robots have been developed to support a wide range of educational activities, such as preparation for specific skills, language learning, vocational education, continuing professional development and others. Specific robotic devices have been created to assist students with disabilities, including developmental, learning and sensory disabilities, communication disorders, emotional and behavioral disorders, and physical impairments. Most research to date has focused on the use of educational robots in school education for children, and few projects have turned their attention to adult education. This project aims to close this gap by creating a bridge between education and the robotics sectors responsible for teaching and preparing adults. Target groups: Educators, Career coaches, Adult learners (including students with disabilities), Local stakeholders (adult education establishments, government agencies, researchers, NGOs and professional industry).
Improve the capacity of educators to provide education and preparation of adult learners through the use of robotic technology. Improve the ability of educators to provide education and preparation specific to the needs of students with disabilities through the use of robotic technology. Chart the field of educational robotics and improve understanding of the interconnections between technologies and practices, relevant to the needs of adult learners. Create an international network of trainers and educators with specific knowledge in the field of robotics education in associated countries. Increase cooperation between adult education, higher education and robotics sectors through increased targeted use of robotic technologies. Increase the capacity of partners from different project countries and improve cooperation between them.
Training Program “FOCUS in foreign languages”, to train foreign language teachers in the identification of learning difficulties, teach children with learning difficulties to learn and become familiar with the learning method through games and how to apply it in teaching to children with learning difficulties.
